Sammy has vetoed more garments than I care to count — stiff collars, snaps that catch his silk coat, sleeves that turn his front legs into a physics experiment. What remains after two winters of testing is a short list of things that actually stay on a 3.2 kg dog.

The problem with buying clothes for a Yorkie is that nothing in the store is labelled honestly. “Small” means retriever-small. “XXX-Small” means chihuahua-sometimes. Sammy lands at 12.5 inches at the chest, and he’s a fairly average-sized Yorkshire Terrier. Most of what you find online is cut two inches too wide and four inches too long.
